Born Tuesday, July 5, 1938 in Forrest City, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Mr. Clarence Nelson and the late Mrs.Tempie Brazele Nelson. He was the husband of Mary Nelson. Surviving are wife, Mrs. Mary Nelson of Forrest City, AR, sons, Mr. Robert Nelson, Jr. of Memphis, TN, Mr. Gregory Nelson of San Diego, CA, Mr. Charles Hamilton of Forrest City, AR and Mr. Keith Nelson of Virginia, daughters, Mrs. Linda Bohannon of Forrest City, AR, Mrs. Janette Walker of Forrest City, AR, Mrs. Felisha Doby of Maryland and Mrs. Shemeka Brandon of Forrest City, AR, brother, Mr. Lepoleon Nelson of Forrest City, AR, sisters, Mrs. Clara Strong of East Palo Alto, CA, Mrs. Izola Crumm of East Palo Alto, CA, Mrs. Ozola Ford of East Palo Alto, CA and Mrs. Rosie Harris of Chicago, IL; 18 grand children and many other relatives and friends.. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Taylor's Chapel CME Church located at 113 Farr St. Forrest City, Arkansas 72335. Interment will be in Casteel Cemetery, Forrest City, AR. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Friday, October 17, 2014, at Clay Funeral Home, 2522 East Broadway, Forrest City, Arkansas.
