Mr. Jewell McNairy, 93 of Forrest City, Arkansas died on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Forrest City Medical Center in Forrest City, Arkansas. Born Friday, August 6, 1920 in Brownsville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Mr. Sherman McNairy and the late Mrs. Eliza Cotton McNairy and the last of 16 children born to this union. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Birdie McNairy for 58 years, and the father of the late Mr. Lee Herman McNairy and the late Mr. Bruce Allen McNairy. He was retired from the Forrest City School District. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Surviving are sons, Christopher McNairy of Lawrenceville, GA, Mr. Isiah McNairy, Sr. of Memphis, TN and Mr. Jewell McNairy, Jr. of Forrest City, AR, daughter, Miss. Joyce McNairy of Forrest City, AR., and many other relatives and friends. A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 26 at Salem MBC located at 105 Haven Forrest City, Arkansas 72335. Interment will be in Casteel Cemetery, Forrest City, AR. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Friday, April 25, 2014, at Clay Funeral Home, 116 North Water Street, Forrest City, Arkansas.
