Mr. Walter Lockhart, 68 of Forrest City, Arkansas died on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East in Memphis, Tennessee.



Born Tuesday, April 17, 1945 in Marianna, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Mr. Melvin Lockhart and the late Mrs. Johnnie Jackson Lockhart. He was the husband of Mrs. Edna Smith Lockhart.



He was a retired brick mason.



He was a member of New Light M B Church in Forrest City.



Surviving are wife, Mrs. Edna Mae Lockhart of Forrest City, AR, daughters, Mrs. Moniek Thomas of Forrest City, AR, Mrs. Tanya Lockhart of Forrest City, AR and Ms. Sharmaine White of Little Rock, AR, brother, Mr. Reginald Lockhart of Forrest City, AR, sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Anderson of Forrest City, AR, Mrs. Betty Swift of Forrest City, AR, Mrs. Sandra Lockhart of Forrest City, AR and Ms. Patricia Lockhart of Wynne, AR; 8 grand children; 10 great grand children.



A Funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 1, at New Light M B Church located at 126 W. Day St. Forrest City, Arkansas 72335. Interment will be in Casteel Cemetery, Forrest City, AR.



The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Friday, May 31, 2013, at Clay Funeral Home, 116 North Water Street, Forrest City, Arkansas.
