Mr. Amos Burgess, Sr. 88 of Widener, died on Thursday, February 28th, 2019, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, TN.
Mr. Burgess was born August 3rd, 1930, in Widener AR, to the late Mr. Anderson Burgess and the late Mrs. Bessie King.
Survivors are his eleven children: Roberta Echols of Maidosn , AR, Jonathan Burgess, Sr., of Heth, AR, Amos Burgess, Jr., of Round Pond, AR, Nancy Ann Burton of Round Pond, AR, Terry Burgess, Sr., of Widener, AR, Pearlene Barnett of Round Pond, AR, Ruthie Whitby of Widener,AR, David Burgess, Sr., of Round Pond, AR, Elbert Burgess of Round Pond, AR, Bernice Word of Widener, AR, and Bernetta Jones of Widener, AR ; He acquired 120 grandchildren, 45 great granchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
The Funeral Service for Mr. Amos Burgess, Sr. will be 10:00am on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Greater Mt. Moriah, Caldwell, AR. Interment will be in Forrest City Cemetery, Forrest City, Arkansas.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Friday, March 8, 2019, at CLAY FUNERAL HOME, 2522 East Broadway, Forrest City, AR.
